US R’n’B musician R. Kelly, who has been accused of abusing teenage girls for over 30 years, has been charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse according to sources.
Cook County prosecutors in Chicago appeared before a judge this afternoon to get the arrest warrant signed off, for R Kelly to be arrested according to source.
The court date for his hearing as been set to 8th March 2019.
Rochelle Washington, 39, and Latresa Scaff, 40, told journalists earlier that they met the singer at a show’s after-party in Baltimore in the early 90s. They claimed the singer gave them alcohol and drugs before demanding sex later in the hotel room.
Their claims come six weeks after a Lifetime documentary series Surviving R Kelly.
Both accusers were unable to be accurate on whether the concert they attended was 1995 or 1996, adding that the security picked them out of the arena’s crowd.
The accusers claimed that at the after party they were given marijuana, cocaine and alcohol and were then invited to the singers hotel room. According to the alleged victims the said a man said to them “R Kelly is getting ready to enter the room. Pull up your dresses”.
R Kelly, then emerged wearing a shirt and jeans but with his genitals out.
Rochelle Washington claimed she refused the singers advances and hid in the bathroom, while Latresa Scaff claimed she performed oral sex on him, which then led intercourse with him, “even though I did not have the capacity to consent,” she said.
Latresa Scaff, claimed said she decided to speak out “because of all of the other victims,” and encourage other victims to come forward.
For 2 decades the singer real name Robert Sylvester Kelly has faced lawsuits and accusations over sex with underage women, child pornography and most recently operating a sex cult.
The singers lawyer made a statement saying his client never knowingly had sex with an underage woman.
